RIDE THE ROCKIES 2009 has come and gone but the memory is still fresh. Once again Dr. Maduff and his wife, Haley had a great time treating the cyclists after long days in the saddle. Haley was especially helpful keeping Dan in line and the waiting riders happy. She made it over a 14% gradient outside of Aspen on her Cannondale Six13 - Amazing! Scope of Practice for the Doctor of Chiropractic in Colorado:
Dr. Dan Maduff at Belmar Chiropractic Clinic in Lakewood, Colorado 80226 near Denver is a fully licensed chiropractor certified to treat low back pain and neck pain using chiropractic techniques, acupuncture and the Graston Technique™ .
Article 22 of the Colorado Revised Statutes states that Doctors of Chiropractic may treat back pain and neck pain without a referral. The American Chiropractic Association also has many articles demonstrating that back pain and neck pain can be best treated in most cases by a chiropractor or doctor of chiropractic. C.R.S. Title 25-1 Rule 6 states that the following fall within the scope of the Chiropractic Practice Act and can therefore be used by a chiropractor to treat low back pain and neck pain: Electrotherapy and Physical Remedial Measures including but not limited to heat, cold and sound. Topical agents such as Homeopathic remedies and herbal agents may also be used by chiropractors to treat low back pain and neck pain. The use of cold laser or soft laser has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Belmar Chiropractic Clinic in Lakewood, CO also makes use of the following remedial measures referenced in C.R.S. 12-33-102: Orthopedic testing, exercise therapeutics, manual therapies such as massage, mobilization and manipulation (or chiropractic adjustments) and postural re-education. The following are some practices which are not within the scope of chiropractic practice and therefore warrant a chiropractor or doctor of chiropractic in Lakewood or Denver, Colorado the duty to refer provision: treatment of the disease cancer, obstetrics, surgery and the administration of oral anesthetics. Chiropractors in Colorado can administer, recommend and sell homeopathic and botanical medicines, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and antioxidants.

Chiropractors who wish to use the title “doctor” or “Dr.” in advertising must also present the word “chiropractor”, “chiropractic” or “D.C.” somewhere in the advertisement. It must be clear that the advertisement is from a Doctor of Chiropractic. Chiropractors in Denver and Lakewood who promote themselves as a Sports Doctor or a Sports Chiropractor must
demonstrate additional training in sports chiropractic to uphold the ethical standards of the Colorado Chiropractic Association. One such example is the CCSP; a board certified chiropractic sports physician.
